The Requesters warn that the loan operation would have led to changes in Peru's labor regulations that would have left workers unprotected and vulnerable. This situation, they allege, would result in negative effects on their economic situation, on their working conditions and on the reduction of their social benefits. Likewise, they allege the lack of information and consultation regarding the impacts that the operation would generate.
Recent actions
On October 23, 2020, MICI terminated the administrative process of the Request for the Requesters to establish initial contact with the Project Team and seek to respond to their concerns with them as a first instance. The Requesters were informed about the possibility of resubmitting their Request if they consider that their concerns have not been addressed within a reasonable period.
