Summary of the Request

The Request describes potential harm to the living conditions of the residents of the Moreno district in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The damages are a consequence of unfinished work on a sewer network project.

The Request also reports on the lack of communication and access to information for residents of the area, who express that the public information about the project is insufficient to clarify the future of the work that was already scheduled to be completed.

Recent actions

On June 7th, 2022, the Request was not registered to allow the Requester to establish an initial contact with the Project Team (Management) through the following protocol: https://www.iadb.org/en/projects/grievances-portal. The Requester was notified of the possibility of resubmitting the Request to the MICI if their concerns have not been addressed within a reasonable period. The Parties were notified and the MICI process was concluded.

It is important to note that the Notification of Non-Registration is not an assessment of the merits of the Request, or the issues presented in it. Nor is it a determination of compliance or non-compliance by the IDB with respect to its Pertinent Operational Policies.
